LAW, ORDER CAN BE better IN 15 DAYS: MULAYAM
Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Tuesday that had he been chief minister in UP, he would have changed perception of law and order in the state within 15 days.
“Had I been in Akhilesh’s place, I would have changed things in 15 days. He should not hesitate in fixing responsibility on district magistrates and police chiefs and even send erring officers to jail if need be,” he said while addressing a press conference here.
Mr Mulayam Singh praised Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and said that the latter had drastically improved the law and order situation in his state.
“Akhilesh can do a Bihar in 15 days here,” he added.
The Samajwadi leader was, apparently, miffed with the media that has been lately critical of the law and order situation in UP.
“You all seem angry with us whereas you people are very happy with Gujarat even though nothing great is being done there. I think I should meet you all more often and understand why you people are upset with us,” he said in a lighter vein.
To a question that Mr Akhilesh Yadav was being made to work under pressure, the SP chief said, “There is no pressure on him now. I am not only his father but also the head of the party and if anything goes wrong, I will definitely point it out”.
