Lawyer ends life, blames UP babus

A lawyer allegedly committed suicide in Kanpur district by hanging himself from the ceiling after his repeated pleas to authorities to get his wife transferred failed to get any response. Lawyers in Kanpur had proceeded on a strike demanding action against those named in the suicide note.

Vinay Kumar Singh (42), a resident of Peelkhana area, hanged himself on Wednesday night in his room when his daughter was studying in a separate room and his wife was away, the police said.
“He was depressed since the last few days as he wanted his wife Uma, a primary school teacher at Farrukhabad, to be transferred to Kanpur. He had appro-ached several officials and health minister Anant Kumar Misra, but no help was forthcoming,” said a family member.
