Leader defends Janu

M. Geethanandan, the leader of the Gothra Maha Sabha who was in the forefront of the Muthanga agitation of 2003 along with Ms C.K. Janu, does not think it is wrong of her to contest if a seat is offered by the Congress-led united democratic front.

Ironically, it was the UDF government led by Mr A.K. Antony who ordered a police firing during the Muthanga agitation in which a policeman and a tribal were killed. But Geethanandan does not believe that an alliance with UDF would cause confusion among the tribals and said the organisation can politically explain the position.
