Life convict suffering from AIDS pleads for mercy killing
A 38-year-old life convict suffering from AIDS has pleaded for mercy killing.
Periyaswamy, lodged in the Salem central prison for the last six years, told reporters at the local hospital where he was brought for treatment on Saturday, that he plans to appeal to the President and Tamil Nadu Governor in this regard.
He said he was suffering from AIDS and that there were no medicines in jail.
Periyaswamy and his associate had jointly kidnapped one Mohan hailing from Salem and murdered him on April 12, 2002.
A case under IPC sections including 302 (murder), were registered and he was found guilty and sentenced to life.
