LK: Haven’t seen a govt run like this

Taking a dig at the Congress-led UPA government, senior BJP leader L.K. Advani said that never had there been a government in the Centre functioning like the way it was doing at present, insinuating at the corruption scams penetrating into the government.

“I have had seen all the governments ranging from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru but the present one has become unique in the manner it is running the government,” said Mr Advani who was in Kolkata to observe the 110th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Jana Sangh, precursor to today’s BJP.
Asked to comment on the absence of a Cabinet minister in the important portfolio of Railways, Mr Advani sarcastically said, “It is not a question of Railways only, but every common man has become sceptic if this government drags along in this fashion till 2014.”
Referring to the change of guard in Bengal, Mr Advani said that during the election campaign he had predicted that change was inevitable and the change had indeed come.
Later, in another programme at the University Institute Hall, Mr Advani highly praised Mamata Banerjee for defeating the CPI(M)-led Left Front. “The Communists’ 34 years’ rule in this state has come to an end. I welcome this and also like to convey my congratulation to Mamata Banerjee for bringing a new era in Bengal. I admire her simplicity and her commitment for the welfare of the common people. I also want to congratulate the people of Bengal for bringing a mini revolution through ballot box,” Mr Advani said.
Mr Advani during his visit to the residence of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, said that the death of the leader had still remained a mystery and that no “inquiry” had been conducted into his demise.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
