LK meets Amit Shah in prison

Ahmedabad, Sept. 18: The senior BJP leader, Mr L.K. Advani, met the former Gujarat minister of state for home, Mr Amit Shah, who is in Sabarmati jail for his alleged role in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

The meeting is being seen as a signal from Mr Advani that the BJP is very much with the minister.

After Mr Shah’s arrest, the party had said Mr Shah had been falsely implicated.

The party sources said it was a courtesy call on Mr Shah, who was in charge of Gandhinagar parliamentary seat which sends Mr Advani to Lok Sabha.

Mr Advani also met Mr Shah’s family at his residence in Ahmedabad.

Mr Advani is the second BJP leader to meet the former Gujarat minister of state for home in prison after Mr Arun Jaitley, who visited him on September 11.
