Love triangle may be reason for teen’s murder
A day after Andheri teenager Ansh Agrawal was brutally murdered by a group of youngsters, the police has started exploring the possibility of a love triangle being the real reason behind his killing.
According to police sources, some of Ansh’s friends have told the police that Ansh and main accused, Siddhant Ghosalkar, were interested in the same girl, who attended the same coaching classes on the Mahakali road in Andheri. However, the girl was more inclined towards Ghosalkar, which was a frequent bone of contention between him and Ansh.
“It appears that Tuesday’s incident was only the final outcome of several clashes between Ansh and Ghosalkar. We are probing into their antecedents to check how deep their enmity runs, and if a common love interest was the real reason behind it. We will be recording statements from their common friends to verify this and will also be speaking to Ansh’s parents once they can give a statement,” said an officer with the MIDC police.
Ansh’s brother Akash has said in his statement that Ghosalkar was eve-teasing Ansh’s ex-girlfriend, and Ansh was trying to get stop him. However, he was met with abusive behaviour, and matters escalated. Ansh’s family and friends held a parade in Andheri to protest his brutal murder and to demand justice on Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, the police has arrested a total of 12 accused in the case by Thursday afternoon.
