‘Low quality rice from mills’

Thiruvananthapuram: All India Ration Dealers’ Association president Babychen Mukkadan said that most of the private mills that were given the paddy procured from farmers for processing by Supplyco are giving low quality rice in return. The high quality rice processed from the paddy was later routed to the open market as branded rice, he rued. Speaking to media here on Monday, he said that a total of 43 mills in state have been made a part of this scheme for processing paddy procured from farmers by Supplyco.
