Maderna, Cong MLA kin held in Bhanwari case

The CBI on Friday arrested former Rajasthan water resources minister Mahipal Maderna over the abduction and suspected murder of 36-year-old Bhanwari Devi, an auxiliary nurse-cum-folk singer in Jodhpur.

The CBI also arrested Parasram Bishnoi, brother of Congress MLA Malkhan Singh. They were arrested hours after a chargesheet was filed in a Jodhpur court in which three other accused in judicial custody — Shahabuddin, Baldev and Sohan Lal — were accused of conspiring to abduct the nurse with an intent to murder her.
