Malaysian Airlines' plane landing gear gets stuck
The landing gear of a Malaysian Airlines plane got stuck just before touchdown here, but was set right minutes before it landed under emergency conditions tonight, airport sources said.
The Kuala Lumpur-Chennai flight, with 238 passengers onboard, hovered in the air for about 30 minutes after the landing gear failed, airport duty manager Yuhanandam said.
A full emergency was declared at the Anna International Airport and fire and hospital services were put on alert, he said. The flight was scheduled to land at 2250 hrs, he said.
The aircraft was towed to a safe area and later brought back to the airport, after which all passengers disembarked, Yuhanandam said.
