Mamata all set to visit Murshidabad
Chief minister and Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is all set to pay a visit to Murshidabad district which is considered as a stronghold of Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury. Ms Banerjee will address a public meeting in Berhampore on August 29.
After assuming the office of chief minister of West Bengal, this will be Ms Banerjee’s first visit to Murshidabad district. Murshidabad district magistrate Rajiv Kumar and superintendent of police Humayun Kabir confirmed the chief minister’s Berhampore programme and said that she will also hold an administrative meeting after addressing the public meeting at the Berhampore Young Men’s Association ground. State fisheries minister Subrata Saha said, “This would be the first visit of our Didi as a chief minister and so we will turn her rally into a festival. We hope that the chief minister will declare a developmental package for the people of Murshidabad and other projects too.”
