Mamata donates Rs 1crore from sale of paintings

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday donated1crore from her earning from auction of her paintings to various relief funds run by the state government.

''I am handing over the cheque for1crore to the chief secretary to be used in government relief funds for the poor,'' Banerjee told reporters at the writers' buildings.

Banerjee's paintings were put under the hammer at an exhibition organised by Trinamool Congress mouthpiece 'Jago Bangla' before the Assembly election.
