Mamata: FDI, Teesta not raised
A beaming Mamata Ban-erjee announced after an hour-long meeting with US secretary of state Hillary Clinton here Monday that the United States was keen to treat West Bengal as a “partner state”, and said their discussions were “positive, constructive, creative and concrete”.
The chief minister clarified, though, that FDI in retail and the Teesta accord with Bangladesh did not come up.
She said Ms Clinton “appreciated” her government’s “passion for work” and she “congratulated us for bringing political change here after a long time”.
Ms Banerjee sought US investments in IT software, manufacturing and deep sea ports, among other areas.
