MAMATA: GOVT INTOLERABLE, IRRESPONSIBLE
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee attacked the Congress-led UPA-2 government by terming it “irresponsible and intolerable” after prices of LPG cylinders (non-subsidised) was increased by `26.50 on Thursday. Continuing her tirade against the Centre, Ms Banerjee posted in her Facebook page: “Again, price of LPG cylinders (non-subsidised) has been increased by `26.50 today. The present UPA government is really becoming irresponsible and intolerable.”
She added, “Even being a minority government, they have been taking all major policy decisions affecting the survival of common people. Imposition of restriction on use of subsidised LPG cylinders and repeated increase of prices of non-subsidised LPG cylinders are being made for the interest of few petroleum companies.”
Reiterating her previous offer to other political parties to topple the Central government, her Facebook page read: “Time is running out. I would appeal to political parties, even those who are extending outside support to UPA-2 government to stand up and be bold to oppose this decision. I assure you to be with you for the sake of the common people.”
The West Bengal chief minister further added: “I am told from different sources that the present UPA government has developed a feeling that there is nobody to change their decision because the present government is using CBI stick to terrorise. If this mechanism continues, then the country will soon see the dooms day of democracy. They do not believe in democratic system of functioning. Even newly-appointed ministers have started threatening other political parties.”
