Mamata meets President for second time

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee Monday met President Pranab Mukherjee at Raj Bhavan here for the second time during the head of state’s 3 day visit and they were understood to have discussed the state’s financial situation.

The President, who was supposed to leave for Delhi after laying the foundation stone of a Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum here, returned to Raj Bhavan.

Raj Bhavan sources said that Banerjee had a one-on-one with the President for over an hour. Later, West Bengal finance minister Amit Mitra and industry minister Partha Chatterjee joined her. State governor M K Narayanan was also present.

The chief minister however did not say anything regarding the meeting.

Earlier on Saturday, she had met the President on the first day of his visit.
