Man attempts suicide in court
A 26-year old kerosene vendor, whose shop was recently raided for alleged blackmarketing, created a flutter in a court here when he attempted suicide by consuming some insecticide after rushing into the witness box, shouting 'harassment'.
Abbas Ali Momin was rushed to district hospital, where he is stated to be "out of danger", police sources said.
Momin, used to sell kerosene in black market. His shop was recently raided by police during his absence and 70 litres of kerosene seized and two persons were arrested in this connection.
"Fearing arrest, Momin today barged into II Judicial Magistrate First Class court. Shouting 'harassment', entered the witness box and consumed insecticide", police said.
