Man charred to death, wife hurt in car blaze

Muzaffarnagar: A 27-year-old man was charred to death and his wife sustained severe burn injuries when the car in which they were travelling caught fire on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway near Khatoli here, police said today.

Pranay Kumar Jain, an engineer by profession, and his wife Samata (26), who got married two days ago, were on their way to Delhi from Saharanpur yesterday when their car collided with a cemented pipe and caught fire, the police said.

While the man died on the spot, his wife was rushed to a hospital, they added. In another incident, two brothers Ayaan (8) and Zishan (7) were burnt to death when they accidentally caught fire in their house in Khundwa village in Saharanpur district yesterday.

They were declared brought dead by the hospital, police said.
