Man doubts wife’s fidelity, kills his son
A farmer who suspected the fidelity of his wife, allegedly killed his year-old son by flinging him into a well near here.
Gurusamy, 35, of Naranamangalam village married Roja, 22, of Veppanthattai village about two-and-a-half years ago. The couple had a one-year-old son Parthiban.
Gurusamy suspected the fidelity of his wife and this led to frequent quarrels. After a quarrel broke out between them a few days ago, Roja went to her mother’s house in anger. Gurusamy, who visited her on Sunday night, apologised and placated her to return to their house.
As Roja suggested that they leave for Naranamangalam the next morning, Gurusamy and Parthiban slept in a separate room while Roja and her mother Rani slept in another.
When Roja woke up at midnight, she was shocked to find Gurusamy and Parthiban missing.
She searched high and low for them in vain. The body of Parthiban was found floating in a well near the marriage hall in Veppanthattai on Monday evening.
On being informed, Arumbavur police rushed to the spot, retrieved the body and sent it to Perambalur government hospital.
Roja, in her complaint to the police, has alleged that her husband Gurusamy could have murdered Parthiban by hurling him into the well.
Based on her complaint, Arumbavur police has registered a case and is on the lookout for Gurusamy.
