Man hangs self, wife delivers premature child out of shock

A 33-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Nasrat Pura area here, police said on Friday.

Shankar Rathod took the extreme step last evening, police said, adding he was apparently under depression due to unemployment, police said.

His wife, who was 8 months pregnant, couldn't bear the shock and fainted, police said.

She was rushed to a hospital where she gave birth to premature baby.

Father of the deceased cited unemployment and poverty as the reasons behind his son's suicide.

The body has been sent for post mortem, police said.
