MAN KILLS 2 OVER FELLING OF TREE

A man shot dead his sister-in-law and nephew on Friday morning in Bulandshahr district over the petty issue of cutting a tree. The incident took place in Segjagatpur village where Choti, 50, and her son Deepak, 24, were cutting a tree in the field. Dharm-endra, brother-in-law of Choti, objected to the felling of the tree in the middle of the field but Choti and her son insisted on cutting it down. This angered Dharmendra who took out his licensed gun and shot the two.

MAMATA OATH after 2 weeks
Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee who had taken the oath of office as chief minister a week after the Assembly election results were declared, will be sworn in as MLA nearly a fortnight after being elected in the Assembly bypoll. “Didi is likely to be sworn in after Lakshmi puja,” a state minister considered close to Ms Banerjee said.
The Assembly byelections to Bhowanipore and Basirhat North seats were held on September 25 and the results were announ-ced on September 28.

India, china oppose eu plan to tax airlines

India, China and the US were among 25 countries that on Friday termed the European Union’s plan — to impose a carbon tax on non-European airlines fro-m January 1, 2012 — as illegal, even as India has decided to send a demarche to the EU on the issue. The other 24 countries will also send demarches individually to the EU. Sources said carriers from India could end up paying thousands of crores per year if the EU move comes into effect.

Infiltration bid foiled, bsf kills 2

The Border Security Force shot dead two intruders who were trying to sneak into India from Pakistan near Kachhao Ki Dhani under border post of Azad in Barmer district. Pakistan, however refused to accept bodies when the Indian side informed them about the incident with protest. The incident occurred when the security personnel saw two intruders crossing fencing.
The BSF personnel challenged them and warned them but they continued to cross the border.
