Man kills wife in front of kid

A 28-year-old woman, working with an internet service providing company, was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband in front of their three-year-old daughter and her family in HAL police limits on Monday afternoon. The HAL police have arrested the husband, an employee with Accenture company.

The deceased, Ruchi Chowdhary, was staying in Munekolalu in Marathalli, while her husband, Siddarth Chowdhary (32), had moved to Delhi over a month ago. Siddarth landed in the city from Delhi around 1.30 pm on Monday and headed straight to Ruchi’s house. He had come prepared and carried the knife, the murder weapon, with him. He barged in and picked up a fight with Ruchi, and as her parents, in whose house she was staying, and their three-year-old daughter looked on, Siddarth pulled out the knife and stabbed her repeatedly. She died on the spot. Her parents informed the police, who arrested him.

Siddarth moved to Delhi after developing differences with his wife. The couple, both from Delhi, knew each other before getting married four years ago.

They started quarrelling over several issues. The police said Siddarth allegedly wanted Ruchi’s entire salary transferred in his name, which she was not agreeable to. Also, Siddarth wanted to buy a house by applying for a joint loan, but Ruchi said no. A frustrated Siddarth decided to move to Delhi, while Ruchi stayed with her parents, expecting trouble, the police said.

“We are trying to find out whether Siddarth came to the city on Monday or was staying for sometime. Ruchi was at home on Monday as her company had declared Diwali holiday. We are yet to find out if he was addicted to any habits or had any other issues which his wife did not like,” the police added.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
