Man stabs father-in-law to death

Muzaffarnagar: A man allegedly stabbed to death his father-in-law following a dispute at a village in this Uttar Pradesh district, police have said.

Jumma Ansari was killed allegedly by Khurshid at Tissa village last evening. A murder case was registered against his son-in-law.

Police said the trouble arose when the victim did not allow Khurshid to take away his wife from their house.

Khurshid's wife was living with her parents after their relationship turned sour.

Meanwhile, efforts were on to nab the accused who is at large, police said.

In an unrelated incident, Subhash Sharma, a 50-year-old farmer, died and his son fell ill after inhaling poisonous gas emanating from a well at Basi village in the district last evening.

According to police, this is the third incident of farmer's death in the district due to poisonous gas emanating from wells in past one week.
