Manikrao visit to Hazare village bid to pacify?

Maharashtra Congress chief Manikrao Thakre visited Ralegan Siddhi on Saturday to meet social activist Anna Hazare. According to sources, this movie is an attempt to convince Mr Hazare to not campaign against the Congress, especially after his call to people to vote against the party.

Soon after Mr Hazare’s announcement, the party’s think tank had started exploring various ways to tackle the issue, and sending Mr Thakre to pacify the social activist is said to be the first move in this direction.
Mr Hazare had earlier said that he would appeal to voters to defeat the Congress if the Union government fails to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Winter Session of Parliament. However, now he has advanced his own deadline and decided to carry out an anti-Congress campaign in the Lok Sabha bypoll in Hisar constituency of Haryana.
