Maoist frontal outfits in huge debts, claims intel
The frontal organisations of the banned CPI (Maoist) have run into huge debt and are demanding at least `13 lakh from the Naxal top brass to continue the Maoist propaganda and their overground activities, latest intelligence reports have said.
Fresh documents seized by security forces from an all-India coordinator of the front organisations of the CPI (Maoists) for the first time show how lakhs of rupees have been pumped into the frontal outfits, having bases in Delhi and other states, to spread the Maoist propaganda.
With the CPI (Maoist) choosing to become extremely secretive after the crackdown by security forces on leaders of front organisations , these outfits have now virtually been left to fend for themselves.
“We have received `1.5 lakh once and `75 thousand at another time so far after the arrest of the comrade. But we incurred several lakhs of rupees on the continuous programmes and activities. We have incurred a loan of `2.5 lakh as of now,” the coordinator of the front organisations has written in a letter to the Maoist top brass.
In the letter, the front organisations have complained that despite several letters and SOS messages, the top leadership is not responding.
The frontal outfits have demanded immediate monetary assistance to meet urgent demands. These include `2 lakh for Maoist prisoners health and other legal charges on fighting cases, `2.5 lakh loans to be cleared; `4 lakh to publish books which are in the pipeline; `3 lakh for the all-India conference of Maoist front outfits; `1 lakh for one arrested senior comrade’s life partner and a minimum of `4 lakh for the front outfits for running their daily activities. The front outfits have also said they are constrained to stop their activities as the decision-making body — the Maoist central committee — needs to chalk out their future course of action.
Meanwhile, the Maoist military leadership, led by their commander Muppalla Lakshmana Rao alias Ganapathy, is planning to carry out attacks on jails to get their jailed leaders freed, the reports have said prompting the Union home ministry to issue an advisory to all state government.
