Maya needs more money for statues

UP chief minister Mayawati needs another Rs 489.46 crores to complete the various parks and monuments dedicated to dalit icons in Lucknow.
In the supplementary grants tabled in the state Assembly on Tuesday, the state government has sought an additional sum of Rs 409 crores for completion of the Kanshi Ram Eco-park while Rs 23 crores have been sought for the Kanshi Ram Smarak that is nearing completion.

The state government needs Rs 9.46 crores for the outer ring of the Ambedkar Smarak while Rs 48 crores has been sought for the inner ring of the same monument. Interestingly, while the state government has sought Rs 489 crores for the parks and monuments, it has kept aside merely Rs 10 crores for development of Bundelkhand and Rs 50 crores for Purvanchal region.
