Maya warns officers on law & order
UP chief minister Mayawati has given two months’ time to state police officials to improve the law and order situation in the state. The CM warned that she would begin surprise inspections in various districts and if she received complaints about the law and order situation, she would take punitive action against those responsible.
Ms Mayawati, while addressing a state level meeting of senior police and civil officers to review the law and order situation and the progress of development, said that she would not tolerate any laxity on these two issues.
She said that the progress of development and law and order would be continuously reviewed at the district level, division level and then at the state level.
Ms Mayawati’s stern posture on the law and order and development issue comes two days after Congress president Sonia Gandhi publicly criticised the UP on these issues.
