Miffed driver steals credit card of NRI
The police has arrested a 25-year-old driver of an NRI for allegedly stealing his employer’s credit card when not given money he sought and using it to buy jewellery.
Jaspreet Singh Bhatia, the driver of Keshav Bhagat, who lives in Moscow, was apprehended from Kakrola in Uttam Nagar for stealing the credit card and buying jewellery, deputy commissioner of police (outer) B.S. Jaiswal said.
Bhatia bought a gold necklace, a gold chain and a gold ring from a jewellery shop in Rohini on October 23.
“Bhatia paid for the jewellery through a credit card but did not produce his identity proof to the shopkeeper. While the transaction was made, the shopkeeper got a call from an unknown person who told the shopkeeper that the credit card that is being used for making payment was a stolen one.”
“The shopkeeper tried to nab the customer but he fled from the spot on his motorcycle. On the statement of the shopkeeper Ashok Kumar, a case was registered,” DCP Jaiswal said.
Bhatia was nabbed from Kakrola after raids. During interrogation, Bhatia said that when Bhagat had visited some days ago he asked for some money but he did not give it. Angered at this, Bhatia stole the credit card and made costly purchases.

2 held for siphoning off money
New Delhi, Oct. 30: Two men from Gwalior were arrested for allegedly withdrawing `63.40 lakhs fraudulently from the account of a private firm by forging signature, the police said on Sunday.
The two accused arrested, Girish Pathak and Jitender Singh, were apprehended following investigations into a complaint filed by the manager of ICICI Bank branch at Nehru Place on October 24, additional commissioner of police (southeast) Ajay Chaudhry said.
The bank manager had claimed in the complaint that the accused duo got hold of the account details of the customer. Using the information, they placed request for change of mobile number and got a cheque book issued the forged signature to and identity to withdraw the amount fraudulently.
