Minor earthquake in Gujarat's Kutch district

Ahmedabad: A magnitude 3.6 earthquake was felt in Gujarat's Kutch district this afternoon.
Rapar was the epicentre of the quake which was recorded at 13.50 pm, said a senior official of Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) here.
Kutch district was hit by a devastating earthquake in January 2001.
"An earthquake measuring 3.6 on Richter scale was felt in remote areas of Rapar, Bhimasar and Chitrod in Kutch district," ISR Director General B.K. Rastogi told the media.
"The epicentre was 16km south-east of Rapar. It can be attributed to normal background seismicity or migrated seismicity from 2001," he said. There were no reports of any casualty or damage to property.
