Minor fire breaks out in Civil Aviation Ministry, no reports of damage
A minor fire broke out in a part of B-Wing on the first floor of Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, which houses the office of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, here on Tuesday morning.
The fire started at around 5.00 a.m. on Tuesday from one of the rooms presently unoccupied, possibly due to a short-circuit, an official press release said.
The Fire Brigade was informed immediately and fire tenders rushed to the spot along with a Quick Response Team (QRT).
They managed to contain the fire within two rooms, and it has since been extinguished, the release said, adding that all files and records were safe. No one was injured, it said.
An inquiry has been ordered by the Ministry to look into the causes of the fire and also to suggest preventive measures to be taken for future.
