The missing Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Naveen Jain, of Rajasthan cadre, was found near Chandigarh at a friend’s place on Sunday. Mr Jain had disappeared six days back while on his way to Delhi with his family. The officer had left a note behind regretting inability to provide a good government accommodation.
According to the police sources, Mr Jain was found with one of his friends in Chandigarh while the police managed to pass a message to him informing him about illness of his wife Sunita. He has moved to his ancestral town of Narvana in Haryana while his wife Sunita and other relatives also proceeded Haryana to meet him.
‘’We are thankful of all, including the government authorities, who helped us in this hour of crisis,” said Mr Jain’s brother-in-law Sandeep Goyal. Mr Jain had recently been transferred to Jaipur as commissioner in settlement department from Baran where he was serving as district magistrate.
He was the centre of a row over the government acco-mmodation provided to him in Jaipur. He went missing from a restaurant at Jaipur -Delhi highway last Tuesday after breakfast. His family members informed the police. Mr Jain’s relatives and family members blamed the state authorities for harassing an honest officer. The Opposition BJP also questioned the sensitivity of the Congress government in dealing with the officers.
The chief minister Ashok Gehlot directed the police and administrative officers to provide all needed help to the Mr Jain’s family in tracing him and ensure his security.
The police left no stone unturned to find out his whereabouts and searched several guest houses and hotels in Rajasthan and Haryana.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
