Missing nurse: Suspect surrenders
Amid mounting pressure, Shahabuddin, a key suspect in the missing nurse Bhanwari Devi case, surrendered before a local court in Jodhpur on Saturday. The court remanded him to CBI custody for two days. The investigating agencies considered Shahubddin as an executor.
The dalit activists, meanwhile, said the community felt lonely and complained that none of the 56 Scheduled Caste MLAs came forward to support the cause.
Carrying a cash reward of `25,000, Shahubuddin was at large since Bhanwari’s disappearance from September 1 and police conducted raids at several places.
He surrendered before the Jodhpur local court on Saturday. He was taken to MGH Hospital in Jodhpur for medical check-up and brought back to the court.
The police had arrested Balia, alias Baldev Jat, and Sohanlal Bishnoi in this connection.
The police believed that Sohanlal Bishnoi managed to brought Bhanwari in Bilara town under Jodhpur district on September 1.
