MMRDA revokes certificate
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority on Saturday revoked the occupation certificate of the controversial Adarsh Housing Society.
“The occupation certificate of the 31-storied Adarsh Housing Society was revoked by the development authority on Saturday,” confirmed Mr Dilip Kawathkar, joint project director, public relations, MMRDA.
Mr Ashok Chavan, chief minister of Maharashtra as well as chairman of MMRDA, directed the MMRDA officials to revoke the occupation certificate. Thus, the occupation certificate has been taken back conditionally. The MMRDA official added that the action was taken due to the ongoing controversy.

Sadbhavana Award for Rahman, ashram
New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh jointly gave away the Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana award to winners A.R. Rahman and Ramkrishna Mission Ashram Narainpur here on Sunday at a simple ceremony. On behalf of the ashram, Swami Vyaptanand received the award, which carries a cash prize of `5 lakhs and a citation.
