Moderate intensity quake hits Northeast; no injuries
An earthquake of moderate intensity shook Assam and rest of the Northeast on Friday but there was no immediate report of any casualty or damage to properties.
The quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale with epicentre in Tezpur district struck at 6.11pm, said R. F. Dattatreya of Met Department in Delhi.
He said the quake was of ‘moderate’ intensity. Panic-stricken people ran out of their homes after the quake.
