Mohanlal quizzed again in tusk case

Actor Mohanlal was quizzed again in connection with a pair of tusks found in his home at Thevara by the income tax officials last year.

This time it was the Thrikkakara police that took the statement of actor, following the department decision to reopen the case after the DGP received a petition from one Anil Kumar who questioned the inactiveness of police in probing the source of tusks.

Earlier the Kodanad forest range officer had questioned Mohanlal in the same case. However, the sources said Mohanlal gave same statements that he had given to the forest sleuths.

The actor also produced a valid ownership licence for the tusks during the interrogation. Thrikkakara assistant commissioner of police, Bijo Alexander, who is probing the case, told DC that the statements and documents given by the actor look genuine at first sight.
