Moily: BJP politicising 2G issue
Law minister Veerappa Moily said the BJP was politicising the issue of 2G spectrum and had no interest in debate and deliberation in Parliament. Mr Moily said there were strong charges of corruption against Karnataka chief minister Yeddyurappa but the BJP could not dare to take action against him.
When asked about the Supreme Court indictment of the Allahabad High Court, Mr Moily said it is up to the judiciary to apply its mind. “I am not in a position to comment on it. I need to speak to the chief justice and others and the government will provide whatever support is required,” the law minister said.
Mr Moily said it was a matter of concern but said he can not discuss the details. Mr Moily also inaugurated a village court at Bassi under Jaipur district. The law minister lashed out the BJP on 2G spectrum issue and said the saffron leaders were not ready to join the debate.
“In a parliamentary democracy, the debate and discussion is the only way to resolve the issue. But the BJP is not ready. They just want to hijack the issue,” he said. Mr Moily said that the Congress took action.
“What is BJP doing?” he asked, referring to the Karnataka issue.
“The charges against the CM have been proved. Nepotism and corruption is rampant in Karnataka and the BJP has no right to speak about morality,” Mr Moily said.
