‘Moral values play big role in society', says KJ Rao
Visakhapatnam:Â Moral values play a vital role in shaping an individual and it is necessary that they are imbibed into the youth for a better society, said former adviser to the Indian Election Commission K.J. Rao.
He was addressing a seminar on personality development in Andhra University on Wednesday. He said youth alone can curtail the rising corruption in the society and suggested that they focus on a social change.
A bunch of corrupt leaders have deteriorated the morale in the society, he said and felt that elimination of corruption should begin at a higher level rather than from the lower level. Andhra University VC Prof. G.S.N. Raju urged youth not to yield to corruption in life and underlined the role of parents and teachers in transforming youngsters into responsible citizens.
From this academic year, the VC said the university was introducing a subject on moral values in the curriculum at the post-graduate level. AU science college principal Prof. V. Veeraiah, arts college principal Prof. Prabhakar Rao, and others were present.
