More hands in Kerala boy's murder suspected
Lancy Varghese, the mother of Lejin Varghese who was found murdered near Muttar St. George HSS on Monday night, suspects the involvement of more people in the crime.
“We do not think one boy alone committed the murder," she told DC, pointing out that as many as 16 cuts were found on the body of Lejin.
A desk was found positioned suspiciously near the school compound. “How can one boy (the present accused) do these all alone,” she asked.
Lancy also said she was not sure whether the police was taking enough interest to carry out a proper investigation into the incident. “No police official has come to our home so far,” she said.
Peringara grama pachayat president Rajesh Chathenkari told DC that he had requested the Superintendent of Police K.J. James to do a thorough investigation into the incident.
He too suspects more people were involved in the incident late on Monday evening near the school premises.
“We have full faith in the police investigation, as one boy has already been arrested, he said.
Meanwhile, the accused in the murder case was sent to juvenile and observation home attached to Mayithara Balabhavan, near Cherthala.
