MP bypoll: Uma missing from BJP star campaigner list
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti, who has returned to the BJP after six years, does not figure in the list of the party's star campaigners for the June 25 Jebera by-election in the state.
Those who figure in the list are Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and three BJP General Secretaries Anant Kumar, Thanwarchand Gehlot and Narendra Singh Tomar among others.
Madhya Pradesh BJP President Prabhat Jha, TV actress and BJP member Smiriti Irani and State Ministers Jayant Mallaiya, Gopal Bhargava, Ajay Vishnoi, Jagdish Deora, Vijay Shah, Ranjana Baghel and Paras Chand Jain will also take part in campaigning for the bypoll in Jebera of Damoh district.
It depends on the party high command to decide on enlisting Uma's services in Jebera, Chouhan said.
The 52-year-old firebrand Hindutva leader was on June seven re-inducted into the BJP. She was expelled from the party for indiscipline in December 2005.
The bypoll has been necessitated by the death of sitting Congress MLA Ratnesh Soloman.
