Mp Cong to organise major farmer protest

The main Opposition Congress is going for a big show of strength by organising a farmers’ protest rally at Barhi in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday to express solidarity with farmers and protest against the acquisition and transfer of agricultural land to private industries.

Prominent among those who will be joining the farmers’ rally in Katni will include Congress general secretary in-charge, Madhya Pradesh, B.K. Hariprasad, another party general secretary and former chief minister Digvijay Singh, former Union minister Suresh Pachouri, state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria and leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Singh.
