MP leaders wary of former CM
Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti’s entry into the BJP on Tuesday has left her supporters happy but the state party leaders and the cadres down the line were either cautious or tight lipped in expressing their reaction over this development.
While Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was touring Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, was not available for comments, state BJP President Prabhat Jha told this newspaper that the party has taken timely action (re-induction of Ms Bharti into the BJP). She has been given the responsibility of cleaning the Ganga river and also campaigning for the party in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Jha said extending his best wishes for her success in this endeavour.
On being contacted, national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party and incharge of Uttar Pradesh Narendra Singh Tomar said, “The party has decided to bring Ms Bharti back into the party fold and the decision is acceptable to all.”
