MP: Pachouri refutes CM’s claim on power

On a number of occasions in the recent past, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has accused the UPA government of discrimination against Madhya Pradesh with regard to the quality and allocation of coal for power generation but state Congress president Suresh Pachouri has a different take on this issue.

Mr Pachouri said Western Coalfields Limited, a government of India enterprise, has supplied more coal to the Satpura Thermal Power Station at Sarni than the quantity of coal produced by local colliery pitheads. He said despite substantial dues of about `204 crores, the coal companies have continued increased supplies to Satpura and Birsinghpur TPS.
