MP: Questions over fate of past MoUs
When preparations are being made on a war footing by Madhya Pradesh government to host the Global Investors’ Summit in Indore from October 28 to 30, questions are being raised in knowledgeable circles here about the fate of a large number of MoU’s signed over the last few years to attract investment in Madhya Pradesh.
According to official figures, MoUs pledging investment over `1,00000 crore that were signed during the last few years have been cancelled—in many cases as the companies developed cold feet, may be because of land acquisition problems or environmental clearances or lack of other infrastructure like roads.
