MUMBAI FEARS SMALL PLANE THREAT
Mumbai airport’s security was beefed up after an alert by the Intelligence Bureau late on Monday about a possible 9/11-type attack using a small aircraft to target the airport.
Airports close to Mumbai like Pune, Aurangabad, Nashik and Nagpur, where normally small aircraft fly, are also on alert.
Security at the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Investigation in New Delhi was also considerably strengthened amid intelligence reports that the building could be a soft target.
These intensified alerts follow tipoffs from American agencies some weeks ago.
