Mumbai photojournalist gang rape accused goes missing from jail

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, Siraj Rehman, an acccused in the gang rape of a Mumbai photojournalist, has gone missing from Thane jail, where he was last knownn to have been lodged in. He, along with four other accused were in judicial custody since September 5.Siraj was supposed to be produced in the court, but was untraceble.Apart from Siraj, other accused in the gang rape case are Vijay Jadhav, Kasim Bengali and Salim Ansari. Another one is a minor.The young scribe was sexually assaulted at defunct and deserted Shakti Mills compound in Parel area on the evening of August 22 when she had gone there on assignment with a male colleague.
