Mumbai police explain rape sequence
Mumbai: The Mumbai police on Friday gave the entire sequence of the rape of the photo journalist here last evening. Here is the police version:
A photo journalist and a male friend arrives at the Shakti Mills in Lower Parel at around 5 pm on Thursday.
The girl starts taking photographs of the dilapidated structure.
A local man comes and start questioning the two asking them how they gained entrance to the structure as it was a railway property.
The photo journalist and friend say that they have come to take some pictures.
Not satisfied with the answer, the local man says that the boy is involved in a murder in the area.
The male companion denies the allegation and says he has come to the place for the first time.
The local rings up his companions who arrive at the spot in a few minutes.
The local and his friends agree that the male companion was involved in a local murder.
Despite vehement denial, they tie the male companion and using a belt and say that the matter has to be investigated further.
On the pretext of questioning the girl, they take her to another place while one man keeps a watch over the male companion.
The girl is gang raped in a most “heinous manner” at around of 6.30 pm.
The girl is taken to a local hospital.
The matter is reported to the police at around 8 pm.
The police arrive at the spot at around 8.30 pm and start investigations.
The police round up 20 people of the area for questioning.
One accused arrested and has confessed to the crime.
