N-capable Agni-5 missile launched
New Delhi: India today launched the nuclear-capable Agni-V missile from the Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast.The launch took place at 8.43 am.The intercontinental ballistic missile, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has a range of over 5000 km and would be capable of hitting targets in China and Europe.The DRDO announced that the missile launch was successful and hit the pre-determined target.This is the second test and the missile is expected to be operational in 2014-15 after a couple of repeatable tests.
