Nadiadwala kin pushed to death

The Versova police has arrested the nephew of a senior citizen — the father-in-law of Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala — for pushing him from his door and causing his death.
According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday at around 10.30 am. Azeez Rehman Khan, 67, who lives at Saurabh Apartment’s H-wing in Andheri (west), had gone to his brother Khalid’s flat, which is in the same compound, but in the F-wing. Khan had visited his brother to discuss some property issue.
However, a heated argument ensued between Azeez and Khalid’s elder son Shahzeb Khan, who in a fit of rage pushed his uncle from the door, causing the deceased to fall down the stairs.
Azeez, who is the father-in-law of Nadiadwala, was immediately rushed to the nearby Kokilaben Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, while undergoing treatment on Tuesday evening.
Preliminary probe suggests that Azeez and Khalid were allegedly embroiled in a property dispute, which might have led to the incident, the police said.
“When Azeez went to his brother’s home and rang the door bell, Khalid’s younger son attended the door. He told him that his father was not at home,” P. More, Versova police inspector said.
However, Azeez returned some time later. This time, a furious Shahzeb rushed out and a heated argument ensued, Mr More added.
During the argument, Shahzeb, in a fit of rage, pushed his uncle from the door. Azeez, who lost control, fell from stairs of the fourth floor, the officer said. Shahzeb has been arrested on the charge of murder. He was produced before a local court, which remanded him to police custody till October 15. Incidentally, Nadiadwala’s former actress wife Divya Bharti too died after falling off from her five-storey Versova apartment on April 5, 1993.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
