Naga rebels eye control in Arunachal
The law and order situation of the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh continue to deteriorate with security agencies detecting the presence of Naga National Council in the state in addition to the growing tension of factional clashes between heavily-armed rebels of NSCN (I-M) and NSCN (Khaplang).
Disclosing that two Naga rebels were killed and some critically wounded in a factional clash three days back, authoritative security sources in the home ministry said that tension was mounting as both the factions of the NSCN are fighting to take control of Tirap and Changlang districts.
Informing that presence of the third Naga rebel group, the NNC rebels, security sources said it is trying to make its presence felt in Arunachal Pradesh.
Regretting that Naga rebels are sucking huge amount of development fund pumped in by the Centre for the frontier state, security sources regretted that growing involvement of Naga rebels into the state’s political scenario is also the major area of concern.
security sources said that Tirap and Changlang districts have been converted into a safe sanctuary for the rebels.
