Natarajan to be quizzed again
The CBI, probing alleged irregularities in the procurement of Tatra trucks by the Indian Army, will soon question suspended chairman of the state-owned Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), V.R.S. Natarajan, in front of two former officials of the PSU.
The questioning of Mr Natarajan will soon take place at the agency headquarters in Delhi. According to sources, the decision to question Mr Natarajan in front of two former officials of the BEML has been taken following the recovery of some documentary evidence by the agency officials.
The agency officials recently visited the Bengaluru office of the BEML and collected documents related to the 1999 agreement concluded by the PSU and the UK-based Tatra Sipox for the supply of all terrain trucks to the Indian Army, sources added.
Sources said, “The agency has questioned Natarajan several times in connection with the case. But this time, he will be questioned in front of two other former officials of the BEML. Natarajan will also be confronted with certain documents recently recovered by the agency during questioning.”
The agency has also started analysing call details of certain officials of the BEML, including its suspended chairman, sources said.
