‘Naxal attack on Salwa Judum founder planned’
Thursday’s attack on Salwa Judum (anti-Naxal vigilante force) founder and senior Congress leader Mahendra Karma in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district was “pre-calculated” and “pre-planned” by Maoists, a police probe into the incident has found.
Mr Karma had escaped narrowly when Naxals blew up his bullet-proof vehicle by triggering landmine blast at Bhogam, nearly eight km from district headquarters town of Dantewada. However, his driver and two personnel security officers (PSO) had suffered minor injuries.
“The Naxals had conducted surveillance on his movements in his village of Farsapal in Dantewada district for four days.”
